I serve on the board of CG because I believe that education is the key to helping kids from very disadvantaged backgrounds have a chance of being successful in life.  I don't believe it helps people to be given handouts on a long term basis, but I believe you genuinely help children when you provide them with an opportunities to work hard and learn how to achieve, and CG does a great job of that.

It’s difficult to imagine a more important mission than that of CityGate DC- that is, helping to provide after school programs, education, and activities for school-age children living in the District and nearby Maryland.  Investing resources- financial and time- in our city’s children is an investment in everyone’s future.  I’m so happy to be a part of  CityGate DC both as a volunteer through my church and by being on the board.

I serve on the board at City Gate to try an offer a voice for the voiceless in our underserved communities in the greater Washington, DC area by helping deliver much needed services and support to at-risk children.  City Gate does this by providing a safe place to deliver educational and material support, in a Christian, nurturing environment that helps these children grow spiritually, intellectually and physically.  I have been involved with City Gate for well over a decade and witnessed these life changing programs delivered humbly and from a servant’s heart consistently.
